What is collected

The estimate request form collects only what you enter into it:

• your contact details: name, email, phone and preferred contact method;
• the vehicle: year, make, model, colour, identification number (VIN) if you provide one, and whether it is drivable;
• the damage: affected area, description, incident date and notes;
• insurance: whether this is a claim and, if so, the claim number;
• the photos and video you attach.

Nothing else is asked of you, and no customer account is created. Alongside the information you send deliberately, Cloudflare may process technical information needed to keep the site running and secure — including IP address, browser, device and automated-detection signals.

A photo of a vehicle can also show a licence plate, an address or someone nearby. Attach only what is useful for assessing the damage.

What it is used for

This information is used to prepare an estimate and to reply to you. That is its only use.

It is never sold, rented or traded. It is not used for advertising, profiling or any automated decision.

Where your information goes

A request passes through three providers, acting on behalf of SLM Auto:

• Cloudflare, Inc. — site hosting, photo and video storage (R2) and the form’s anti-bot check (Turnstile);
• Resend, Inc. — delivering the request to the shop by email;
• Google LLC — the mailbox where the shop receives and keeps the request.

These companies are based in the United States. Your information may therefore be stored or processed outside Quebec and be subject to the laws of the country where it is held.

Alliance Optima administers the site on behalf of SLM Auto and accesses the information only where technical support requires it. No provider other than those listed above is used.

How long it is kept

• Uploaded photos and video are deleted automatically 90 days after they are received.
• The links to those files, sent to the shop, stop working after 7 days.
• The email containing your request stays in the shop’s mailbox for as long as needed to act on it and, where applicable, to carry out the resulting work.

You can ask for deletion before those deadlines. See “Your rights” below.

How it is protected

File storage is private and cannot be browsed: each file is reachable only through a signed, time-limited link given to the shop alone.

Traffic to the site is encrypted (HTTPS), and the form cannot be submitted without passing an anti-bot check.

Cookies and analytics

The site sets no advertising or tracking cookies, and does not follow you from one site to another.

Traffic is measured with Cloudflare Web Analytics, a cookieless tool that produces aggregate figures: pages viewed, general source, device type. No individual profile is built.

Cloudflare Turnstile is used only to tell a person from a bot when the form is submitted; it feeds no advertising profile.

Your rights

Quebec’s Law 25 (Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector) gives you the right to:

• access the information SLM Auto holds about you;
• have it corrected if it is inaccurate, incomplete or ambiguous;
• withdraw your consent and ask for your request and its attached files to be deleted;
• file a complaint with the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec.

Put “privacy” in the subject line. If your request concerns an estimate, include the SLM- reference you received when you submitted it: it locates the file without you having to share anything further.
